Controversial Photo of MP Moha 'Jicho Pevu' Voting Sparks Angry Reactions

Nyali Member of Parliament (MP) Mohamed Ali 'Jicho Pevu' on Thursday sparked angry reactions after he shared a controversial photo of himself casting a vote.

The former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party MP aspirant was condemned for an alleged defiance of Opposition leader Raila Odinga's call to boycott the repeat presidential election.

Moha 'Jicho Pevu' picked a fight with a Facebook user who had called him a "vifaranga wa kompyuta (computer-generated leaders)" after posting alleged photos of the Nyali MP voting during the repeat presidential election. The images were found out to have been doctored.

The first-time MP took to social media to share the original photo of himself voting in the August 8th election alongside the photoshopped version of the pictures purporting that he had voted on Thursday.

The post received less than favourable comments from those who believed that the photos were authentic and that he should have stuck to NASA's declared position despite having lost the ODM nominations.

The Nyali MP aggravated his followers further by dismissing the controversial photo as an attack from Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and his brother Abu Joho.

He also termed the attack as outdated propaganda tactics that sought to take the focus away from national issues.

Mohamed Ali has in the past accused the Mombasa Governor and his elder brother of intimidating his supporters and threatening his life.

"He (Abu) hired drug addicts to throw stones at my rallies and even at one point I was nearly stabbed by the goons," Mohammed Ali alleged during a past interview.
