100,000 Voters Were Added to Election Register - ODM Declares

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on Sunday claimed that nearly 100,000 voters had been added to the electoral register after the August 8th General Election.

In a series of tweets, the Orange party also accused the Electoral Commission of failing to turn on the GPS/GEO fencing features of electronic kits used for the Oct 26 polls.

According to ODM, the failure by IEBC to turn on the kits means that the electronic gadgets cannot be traced to their respective polling stations.

In another series of tweets, the Opposition Party called on their supporters not to give up on the struggle for liberation.

The Party led by Opposition Leader Raila Odinga noted that the struggle to create a credible election was in its early stages in the country adding that it will solve everything now and leave nothing for the future.

"Independence struggle started in the early 50s, way before any EAC member, and ended after every EAC member. Because we Kenyans go Marathon for rights and freedoms; we're just in the early stages of instituting credible elections here - for good.

"Like our forefathers, we understand there are those who want quick fixes, supported by their own comfort and looking only inward. We learnt from Mau Mau, and the long and hard talks at Lancaster I and II, that we leave nothing for a future time. We solve everything," ODM stated.

Mr Odinga's party went ahead to explain that if the future generations ever come across any challenge it would not be related to election since matters of poll malpractice were being dealt with now.

"If another generation grapples with another difficult national question, let it not be the evil of election rigging. This we are burying. We want to bequeath a generation immediately after us a commonwealth of all, for all, by all," the party stated.

The movement made an urgent request to their supporters to keep fighting for reforms adding that the Opposition will soon triumph.

"And because our cause is right, every timeless tool for those fighting just causes are on our side. We will triumph! So don't give up, don't listen to the cynicism of those already comfortable. Who ask whether, or why, things can change.

"This is our finest hour. A democracy tested. We shall win," read part of the ODM tweets.
