Pope Francis has sent his condolences to all Kenyans following the death of Bishop Cornelius Korir stating that the Catholic church has suffered a great loss.
The Pope further reminded Kenyans to emulate the late Bishop adding that he stands with the country during this period of mourning.
"We have received a message of condolence from Pope Francis following the death of Bishop Korir," Father William Kosgey, Vicar General of the Eldoret Diocese, stated on Friday.

Bishop Korir will be laid to rest on November 11 at St John's Sacred Heart Cathedral in Eldoret and the government has offered to cater for the expenses.
Over 100,000 people are expected to attend special prayers, a night vigil, and the funeral service at the Eldoret Sports Club.
The government will be installing floodlights at the Sacred Heart Cathedral during the burial preparations. Others are being installed at the Bishop's Elgon View residence where local and international guests are expected ahead of the burial.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy Party William Ruto issued a directive that the government should be involved in the burial preparations.
"We will do anything the church asks to give Bishop Korir a befitting sendoff as directed by Uhuru," Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter ascertained.
Leaders from across the country mourned Bishop Korir affirming that he was a brave man who dedicated his life to fighting injustices in the society.
Former President Daniel Arap Moi stated that the Bishop was a genuine man of God who loved all people without discrimination. He further added that the deceased valued peaceful co-existence and worked tirelessly to bring people together.
