Kalonzo's Team Speaks on Being Sidelined in NASA

A section of leaders from Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper Party on Monday dismissed claims that they had been sidelined in the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Makueni Legislator Dan Maanzo stated that Wiper was firmly in NASA.

"We are fully in charge of NASA affairs," he stated.

Meanwhile, a section of other Wiper leaders while addressing the media explained that they were "cordial and cozy" in the coalition.

Deputy Wiper party leader Farah Maalim and vice chairman Victor Ogeto dismissed claims by some of their members that the party was being sidelined in the making of key coalition decisions.

“We are firmly in NASA. We know our objectives, which we will pursue within NASA, anything else is diversionary.

“I'm not aware of any squabbles or alleged bullying in NASA," the vice chair stated.

Mr Maalim, on his part, stated that the allegations were false adding that Wiper was enjoying a cordial relationship with the affiliate alliance parties.

“That is untrue. The leadership of Wiper can say categorically there is nothing of the sort. Nothing could be further from the truth,” he stated.

The leaders made the remarks following comments from a section of Wiper counterparts who had accused the NASA affiliate parties of sidelining them in the coalition.

Last week, a group of leaders from the party announced plans to consolidate their stake in the Opposition ahead of the 2022 presidential election.

Speaking during Wiper's meeting in Athi River, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana stated that Wiper would revisit the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the NASA affiliate parties recognising Musyoka as the 2022 flag bearer.
