The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) concluded its investigations into allegations against the security forces where one was found guilty of raping a GSU officer.

The alleged rape by a General Service Unit officer happened at the headquarters in Nairobi on February 9, 2017.

Furthermore, police were found culpable for the alleged killing of Baby Samantha Pendo, Stephanie Moraa, and 11 others who died during the electioneering period.

Six-month-old Pendo was reportedly hit by police with a baton on the head at after forcing their way into her parent's home in Nyalenda, Kisumu, on August 15.

Moreover, the report also faulted the police in the case of nine-year-old Stephanie Moraa Gisemba, who was fatally shot as she played outside her home.

The officers were further blamed for brutality against students at the University of Nairobi and the Commander who was in charge of the operation is expected to be prosecuted.

"We submitted a report to the National Police Service Commission for stern disciplinary actions against the responsible Commander," Mr Mabonga stated.
