Raila is Afraid of 1 Thing - Senator Exposes

Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has accused Opposition leader Raila Odinga and his National Super Alliance (NASA)  counterparts of courting attention to remain relevant.

Mr Wamatangi has dismissed activities by the Opposition claiming that the NASA leaders are only afraid of becoming politically irrelevant.

"NASA's push for reforms is a gimmick to hoodwink Kenyans, their sole intent is to ensure that they don’t vanish from the political arena," the Senator declared.

The Senator went on to term the National Resistance Movement (NRM) unconstitutional, arguing that even the economic sabotage initiative are all tactics that will benefit a few individuals in NASA.

Other activities the Senator condemned include anti-IEBC protests, directives that MPs and senators boycott Parliament, push for irreducible minimum demands, election and economic boycott, and the push for people’s assemblies.

He urged the Opposition lawmakers to resign and forfeit their responsibilities if at all they are genuine in their call for constitutional reforms.

The Jubilee Senator was speaking in a panel on Wednesday when he shared the sentiments he added that Article 1 of the Constitution gives power to the people.

However, he added that Article 2 was clear that people can either express it directly or through elected representatives.

He stated that the two articles do not allow the people's representatives to engage in the defiant People's Assembly.

"An MCA cannot pretend to meet outside the assembly and purport to be passing laws," he dismissed.
