Raila Announces NASA's Plan After Supporters Were Killed

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has announced that the coalition will cater for the funeral expenses for those who were killed during his homecoming march.

The Opposition Chief added that the team would also hire a pathologist to examine the bodies and determine what actually killed the five NASA supporters.

Speaking from the City Mortuary on Saturday, Mr Odinga added that the Opposition will ensure that those liable for the deaths are brought to book.

"It is unfortunate. We want to condole with the relatives and we stand together with all of them. We are going to have a pathologist assist with the post-mortem and we will help with the funeral arrangements for all the victims as NASA.

"It is a state of mourning as a country losing such young innocent lives to a State is inexcusable and those who have committed such heinous crimes will have to pay eventually," he stated.

The Opposition leader also reported that Kathiani MP Robert Mbui was undergoing treatment for his broken leg, adding that the MP's car had been sprayed with bullets as well.

He added that the police had fired tear gas into his car and Mr Mbui broke his leg in the process of running for his life.

"It is terrible, very terrible and this must be condemned in the strongest terms possible," Mr Odinga stated.

A pathologist that had accompanied the Opposition team to the mortuary indicated that 15 bodies had been received, accompanied by police statements on their deaths.

While NASA leaders insist that the victims had all been shot by police, the law enforcers claim that only one body had gunshot wounds while all others were casualties of mob justice.
