You Are Now President, Deal With Raila as a Criminal - Uhuru Told

President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Tuesday told to deal with National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga as a criminal over his resistance movement plan.

Four legislators from the Eastern region; Embu Senator Njeru Ndwiga, Legislators Muriuki Njagagua (Mbeere North), Geoffrey King’ang’i, (Mbeere South) and Cecily Mbarire  (nominated) urged the President to use his powers and take action against Mr Odinga.

Addressing claims by the Opposition that they would swear in the former Prime Minister, the MPs stated that President Kenyatta should avoid restraint and deal firmly with the opposition and its supporters who may interfere with the peace in the country.

Mr Ndwiga while addressing the media on Tuesday explained that the President's restraint should not be seen as weakness adding that the police should crack down on the opposition if they engage in violent acts.

Mbeere North MP while speaking to the Star urged the president to work on ensuring that the economy picks up and Kenya moves on adding that the Head of State should not allow any resistance activities in the country.

Retired Colonel Kingangi made a special appeal to Mr Odinga asking him to respect the verdict of the courts adding that any attempt to swear Mr Odinga would be considered as an act of treason.

Ms Mbarire on her part noted that court rulings should not only be accepted when they favor particular individuals.

"The president had the capacity to behave the way Odinga is behaving after nullification of his election but he didn’t because if he did so there would be no country today.

"Does Odinga think the court’s ruling is only fair when they are in his favor?” Mbarire was quoted by the Star.
