President Uhuru Kenyatta has literally brought women to the forefront of his economic team board meetings after Kenyans took issue with male dominance in past meetings.
During the fourth of a series of economy-centred meetings President Kenyatta has held in the past two weeks at the National Treasury, he was pictured at the head of the board-room table with only two women conspicuously seated in the front row.
He captioned the photos with the agenda of the meeting stating: "Held a meeting with my economic team geared towards sustaining the country’s development momentum for the benefit of all Kenyans."

President Kenyatta came under fire over the photos with Kenyans complaining that women were not visible in the team.
Another of the President's Facebook followers, Nimo Gathogo, commented: "We need more women in this positions jameni!"
A remark from Geraldine Muiruri that sparked heated discussions read: "Dear Mr President, Surely if this is the country's Economic Team; where exactly does the future for us women in Economics lie? I am a concerned woman Economist."
Some of the replies to the comment included Samuel Maina's, "I think this women empowerment is overrated...I think papers and experience should speak more not activism."
"Geraldine Muiruri I am very much pro-women and I do have a problem imagining that we would have a picture like this in a country with a majority of women some of whom are without a doubt extremely gifted! But I also have a problem with the unstated suggestion that one’s gender gives them some distinctive intellectual capabilities or incapacities. This idea is both false and demeaning to either gender," Paul Arap Ngugi responded.
Friday's photos elicited favourable comments from the President's followers who noted the "improvement" in making women in his team more visible.
