Only NASA Governor Who Attended Uhuru’s Swearing-In

Josphat Nanok, who was elected Governor on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket, attended President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta's inauguration on Tuesday.

Governor Nanok, who had been a fierce critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta was spotted arriving at the Kasarani stadium moments before the Head of State and his Deputy William Ruto’s arrival.

Nanok, who is the Chairman of the Council of Governors, skipped a memorial rally which the opposition had planned to take place at the Jacaranda grounds.

He had earlier stated that all the 47 governors and their administrations would work closely with the national government under the leadership of President Kenyatta.

Governor Nanok joined 25 Jubilee governors who were in attendance accompanied by other dignitaries from around the world.

The Turkana county boss was the only opposition leader who attended President Kenyatta’s swearing-in ceremony despite his allegiance to Raila Odinga.

The Opposition coalition had categorically stated that it did not recognize President Kenyatta’s re-election and its leaders skipped the inauguration at Kasarani despite being invited to attend.

Additionally, the Head of State promised a Presidency where he would serve all Kenyans regardless of how they voted.
