Wiper Party Makes Changes in Preparation For 2022

Wiper Organising Secretary Robert Mbui on Wednesday affirmed that Wiper has put measures in preparation for taking a shot at the Presidency in 2022.

The leaders met in Athi River and appointed Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana to be the party’s point man in Ukambani.

Mr Kibwana was chosen to replace former Kitui Senator David Musila as opposition legislators jostled for House leadership and committee membership slots.

The Wiper leaders replaced its rebel secretary general and former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar with former Nominated Senator Judith Sijeny.

Mr Omar quit Wiper and joined Jubilee after indicting Kalonzo's leadership and NASA for not backing his bid to take over from Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

Regarding Kibwana's appointment, the organizing secretary stated: “Members met and our main agenda was to fill the vacant positions.”

"Professor Kibwana was appointed the chairman and Senator Sijeny secretary general," he added.

Mr Musila quit Wiper to vie as an independent candidate but lost the Kitui Gubernatorial race to Narc leader Charity Ngilu.

Mr Mbui further revealed that during Wiper's meeting at an Athi River resort, the legislators ascertained their commitment to the National Super Alliance (NASA) and its resistance.
