Kenyans were on Friday set in a frenzy after the topic "Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga" topped the trending topics on Twitter.

Many Twitter followers perceived the worst could have happened, now that the county's first two governors trended after their deaths.

The former Deputy Governor, who assumed office after the tragic road accident that killed Governor Wahome Gakuru, was on Friday addressing a meeting at the Nyeri County hall.

Governor Kahiga addressed a congregation ahead of the 6th Annual Conference of Constitutional Commissions & Independent Offices scheduled to take place on December 5 and 6.
