Jubilee Leaders Reveal What Will Make or Break DP Ruto's 2022 Presidential Bid

A section of Jubilee leaders from Kericho, Nakuru,Kericho, Bomet and Narok counties have expressed their concerns over Cabinet appointments adding that it will make or break Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

Led by Belgut MP Nelson Koech, the leaders noted that the region deserves more slots in the current cabinet after overwhelmingly campaigning for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy in the concluded elections.

"The Deputy President should have his eyes on 2022 even as helps the president to form the cabinet.The DP should know that these appointments will make or break his 2022 ambition, he should have that in mind when picking the nominees,” he noted.

Chepalungu MP Gideon Koskei on his part noted that the former Bomet governor Isaac Rutto should be honored for dumping NASA and declaring his support for Mr Kenyatta after the August election.

“The former governor sacrificed his political ambition to ensure that President Kenyatta and Ruto get massive support in the South Rift region in the repeat presidential elections,”  he stated.

The MP argued that the Chama Cha Mashinani party leader is a key political player in the region and Uhuru team must ignore him at their own peril.

Nakuru County leaders led by Governor Lee Kinyanjui are also lobbying for two CS and PS position.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri indicated that the region has been overwhelmingly voting for the Uhuru led team and deserves more slots in the Cabinet and foreign service.

“Nakuru County has always been voting for the Jubilee party and I think the president should consider this county in his Government,” he conveyed.

Their counterparts in Kericho county have also pushed for the retention of CS Charles Keter in the current government.

The Belgut MP and his Bureti counterpart Japheth Mutai noted that the electricity connectivity programme under Energy CSs docket encouraged Kenyans to vote for Uhuru.
