NASA to Take Swearing-in to Germany

The National Super Alliance (NASA) People's Assembly organising committee has spoken about conducting a swearing-in outside the country

The committee chaired by economist Dr David Ndii has conveyed that they are in talks concerning swearing-in Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the people's deputy president in Germany.

They have also expressed doubt that the swearing-in ceremony will continue in Kenya if the former Vice President is not part of it.

Mr Musyoka has been in the European State attending to his ailing wife, Pauline Kalonzo, who is undergoing specialised treatment for an undisclosed condition.

The Wiper party leader has been following the developments in the Opposition coalition, occasionally sending messages to assure supporters of his commitment to the cause.

NASA on Friday announced that they will go forward with their plan to swear in Opposition Chief Raila Odinga as the people's president.

The organising committee elaborated that eight activities would take place during the ceremony where Mr Odinga will be inaugurated as leader of the Constitutive Assembly.

Mr Eliud Owalo stated that there would be prayers by different religious leaders which will then be followed by a ceremony to install "the people’s leader" and then speeches.

The schedule, however, did not specifically state how Mr Musyoka would be bequeathed the deputy president post.

The Opposition coalition retreated to Machakos on November 25 where they officially announced that they do not recognise President Uhuru Kenyatta as the duly elected president of the Republic of Kenya.

They declared Mr Odinga and his August 8 running mate Kalonzo the president and deputy president respectively and have since assured supporters that the two will be sworn in and given full rights of the offices on Jamhuri Day.
