Sources report that the MCA complained of some discomfort while he went back to his seat and later on fainted.

Speaking from the hospital, Nyeri County Assembly speaker John Kagucia told reporters that the MCA did not have any history of illness prior to the tragic incident.

Mr Kagucia recalled that the departed had been part of a special sitting of the county assembly that was held on Monday.

"We had a special sitting yesterday looking into important matters concerning the county and he was very jovial. There was no indication that he had been sick before today.

"We learnt that he had been taken to the hospital and immediately rushed here and found that the doctors were attending to him keenly," Speaker Kagucia recounted.

He noted that the tragic incident has sent shock waves to the county, having only recently buried their third Governor Wahome Gakuru who died in a fatal road accident.

"We will continue to pray because these are very difficult things to go through. We pray that God will shelter us from such calamities," he noted.
