Duale Reveals He Negotiated With Raila Over NASA Appointments

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale on Thursday revealed that he had negotiations with National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga over the appointments of the coalition representatives in Parliament.

Duale divulged this while requesting the Minority Chief Whip, Junet Mohamed, to second his motion on the elections of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) nominees.

"Congratulations. I campaigned for you and lucky enough you succeeded. I had to talk to 'Baba'," disclosed the Garissa Township MP.

The appointment of NASA parliamentary leaders had been characterized with a lot of confusion in the coalition as other parties felt sidelined.

Thursday morning parliamentary session had an interesting turn of events as Speaker Justin Muturi had to throw out Minority leader John Mbadi from the chambers.

Trouble started when the Suba South MP claimed that Kenya does not have a President.

Mr Mbadi refused to withdraw his statement despite receiving an order from Speaker Muturi.

Mbadi asserted that he would rather withdraw from Parliament rather than withdraw his statement, amid heckles from legislators allied to Jubilee party.

Mr Muturi then ordered him out of the chambers highlighting that he would not engage him any discussions unless he took back his words.

Mbadi opted to walk out and even took time to shake hands with some of the legislators.
