3 Killed After 10-Hour Police Undercover Operation

Three thugs were killed after a 10-hour police undercover operation in a Nairobi Eastlands Estate along Jogoo Road.

Confirming the successful police stake-out, Nairobi Police Commander Japheth Koome stated that the three were part of a notorious gang that had carried out violent robberies and killings in the city.

“We recovered three firearms and ammunition from them. This was through intelligence. A member of the public tipped us. They were planning a robbery,” he stated.

In a well-orchestrated scheme to eliminate the thugs, undercover officers arrived in the estate at 8 am carefully disguising themselves until 6 pm when they engaged with the gangsters.

The officers adopted unsuspecting personas with one donning an overall that resembled Kenya Power's outfit to the tee.

Another one played a construction worker at a nearby site where he carried sacks of sand to the building under construction.

While two stood on standby in one of the many kiosks in the estate inconspicuously chatting.

The other officer sat on a wooden bench at a shop, sipping soda and watching over a carton box that contained their guns.

Reports indicate that barely minutes to 6 pm a shootout ensued after the undercover officers rushed to the cartoon box to retrieve their pistols and riffles.

The shootout that lasted for a mere five minutes ended with the three suspected gangsters lying dead on the busy street in the estate.

After the incident, residents told the media that the officers did not look like the ordinary police in their undercover outfits.

One of the them had dreadlocks and chewed miraa throughout the stakeout while another who posed as a boda-boda rider did not call for customers all day long.
