Don't Trust Maraga - Mutahi Ngunyi Warns Uhuru

Controversial political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, has warned President Uhuru Kenyatta against "being nice" to Chief Justice David Maraga.

Ngunyi equated the Supreme Court judge to a political snake, since "he does not trust this man (Maraga)".

According to him, the President should not trust the Chief Justice following the historic decision by the Supreme Court annulling his August 8 win.

In his Fifth Estate analysis, Ngunyi accused Maraga of breeding rebellion in the country citing the resignation of Roselyn Akombe as an IEBC commissioner, re-emergence of the outlawed militia like Mungiki and the rise of the unstructured Nairobi Business Community.

Ngunyi states that the ruling by the Court inspired defiance like the one displayed by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who was caught on tape uttering insulting words against Kenyatta and the first family.

"For inspiring this kind of rebellion, Maraga must be condemned as a traitor of the Country," commented Ngunyi.

He further rates Kenyatta and Raila on their political scores during the year, expressing bitterness that the Supreme Court nullified the August election which he notes the CJ should be punished for.

Ngunyi advises the President to change his humble character and be like former Ghanaian leader, Jerry Rawlings, who was ruthless with dissents and like Uganda's Yoweri Museveni.

Mutahi dismantled all the accolades heaped on Maraga following the September 1 ruling, stating the CJ is a traitor to the country.

"It does not pay to be nice to Maraga," Ngunyi highlights.

In the repeat election on October 26, Mr Kenyatta won with a wide margin after Raila withdrew from the race on claims that electoral reforms were needed to guarantee a free and fair election.

After the September 1 ruling, the President referred to Maraga and justices Philomena Mwilu, Smokin Wanjala and Isaac Lenaola as crooks.
