Charity Ngilu Now Pledges to Work With Uhuru

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, who is allied to National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition, changed her tune on Monday and revealed her plans to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta to serve her county.

Speaking while touring Ndengu farms in Kitui Rural and Kitui Central sub-counties, Governor Ngilu stated that her agenda aligned with the Jubilee leaders plan for achieving food security in the country.

“President Kenyatta has been championing for water provision and food security as key in Jubilee government’s development agenda for the nation. Water and food are my priorities too.

“For that reason, I am going to reach out to him so that we can discuss how we can work together towards realizing adequate water supply and sufficient food not only for Kitui but also the rest of Kenya,” she announced.

The Kitui Governor further disclosed that she would reach out to the President during the Late Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze's burial that is taking place on Tuesday.

Together with Secretary General Kenya Redcross Dr Abbas Gullet and Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Mbaki Mbaki, Ms Ngilu visited Mamole water point in Kitui Rural unveiling a partnership with the Kenya Redcross in the rehabilitation of 23 boreholes in the county.

Ms Ngilu has been a staunch critic of President Kenyatta warning him that the county would never support him.

In the lead up to the now postponed inauguration of NASA leader Raila Odinga as the people's President, the Kitui Governor divulged that she would be a key speaker during the ceremony.

She also called for President Kenyatta to vacate office immediately for the former Prime Minister to run the country.

Justifying her call, the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) Party leader stated that President Kenyatta lost the August election to Mr Odinga, rendering his Presidency illegitimate.
