Central MPs to Give Raila Bible For His Swearing-in

Nyeri County lawmakers have dared National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga to swear himself in, and have further offered to give him a Bible to use for the occassion.

Speaking at an event in Nyeri on Monday, Kieni MP Kanini Kega encouraged the former Prime Minister to go ahead with the plan as long as he acknowledged that President Uhuru Kenyatta was the legally recognized President.

He stated: "Mtoto akililia wembe mpe. Wacha tumtaftie hio Bibilia, tumpatie aape vile anataka kuapa (If a child asks for a razor blade, give it to them. Let us look for that Bible and give it to him to take the oath the way he wants to)

"Lakini ajue kuna Rais anaitwa Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta (But he should know there is a President called Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta," Kega continued.

Tetu MP Gichuhi Mwangi affirmed that they would  not tolerate NASA's recently launched People's Assembly.

"We are telling Raila in no uncertain terms that we are not going to entertain People's Assembly," he declared.

Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami opted to avoid politics and instead called for relevant agencies to find a lasting solution to the rising cases of road carnage in the country.

Attorney-General Githu Muigai had earlier described NASA's plan to swear in Raila as the People's President as 'high treason'.

He also claimed that politicians with legal backgrounds allied to NASA were misadvising Odinga on the swearing in plan.

“Government institutions will do what they are mandated to do if and when the time is right,” Muigai stated.
