Sh2 Million Stolen in Kajiado Bank Robbery

Sh2 Million was stolen from the Kajiado branch of Postbank after three armed men stormed the bank and ordered the guards to take them to the manager's office.

The thugs then forced the manager to take them to the strongroom where they made away with the cash.

The daring gang further took off with the CCTV server in a bid to cover their tracks.

Police in Kajiado have launched investigations into the daylight robbery, with claims from some quarters that it was an inside job.

Kajiado Central DCIO Daniel Msangi stated that the three men, bearing pistols, made their way into the bank at 1.30pm on Saturday.

He further divulged that their mission went on uninterrupted until 3.30 pm when a woman operating a business next to the bank noticed suspicious activity and called an employee of the bank whom she knows.

The employee then called the Kajiado Central Deputy OCS who informed the DCIO.

The police arrived at the bank only to find the staff, including the manager, locked in the strongroom.

Eyewitnesses stated that the officers were unsure if the robbers were still in the bank when they got there and shot in the air to see if they would retaliate.

The bank has two private guards but only one was on duty on the day of the robbery.
