Siaya Governor Rasanga Dares Government to Kill NASA Leaders

Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga on Saturday dared the government to kill National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders affirming that the plan to swear-in Raila Odinga was on course.

Speaking during the burial of Dr Mary-Gorrety Ofafa at Siaya town, the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) Governor reiterated that the opposition coalition would not tolerate any election malpractices even if it meant paying the ultimate price.

"If Jubilee leaders think they can always threaten Nasa with death, anytime they hear about swearing- in Raila, they should fulfill the threats," he was quoted by the Star.

Rasanga urged his supporters to accompany him to Nairobi for Raila's swearing-in adding that he was confident they would not let him down.

"My supporters have never disappointed me. When I asked them not to vote they didn't turn up. When I asked them not to go to work during the weekly demonstrations, no one reported to work. This time around I know they will accompany me in more than 10 buses," he stated.

The ODM Governor added that the opposition would not allow anyone derail the swearing-in slated for January 30th.

He assured that those who were opposed to the inauguration would not interfere with the plan.

"This is the only opportunity to change the system of oppression that comes with every election year and allow voters, not computers, to have their way.

"Since independence, there has never been a free and fair election. Mzee Jomo Kenyatta never conducted an election and president Daniel Moi stole all elections for the more than 20 years he was in power," he explained.

Meanwhile, NASA postponed a crucial retreat set for this week in order to provide more time for negotiations aimed at bringing Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu's NARC party on board.
