Matiang’i's Order Leads to Manhunt for MCAs in Uganda

A hunt for Bungoma MCAs who attempted to eject a school principal has been extended to Uganda following orders by acting Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i.

Reports indicated that Luke Opwora (nominated), Aggrey Mulongo (Kibingei), Elvis Abuka (Milima) and Stephen Wafula might have escaped to Uganda after police launched a manhunt for them.

Bungoma county commissioner Joshua Chepcheng stated that they will smoke the MCAs from their hideouts wherever they are.

"We will go for them wherever they are hiding in Uganda, the culture of impunity must stop," he affirmed.

The MCAs have since switched off their phones making it hard to track them through GPS.

On Friday, Matiang'i warned all politicians and locals interfering with the transfer of principals and further ordered county commissioners to arrest anyone who attempts to intimidate new school heads stating that more transfers were coming.

However, NASA principal Moses Wetang'ula defended the ward representatives arguing they had done nothing wrong.

"What the MCAs did was not wrong it was within their rights as education stakeholders," Wetang'ula told mourners at a burial.

He further accused the acting Education CS of failing to consult stakeholders alleging the transfers were suspicious and doomed to fail.

"I will personally seek an audience with the CS on Monday to seek for the stop of the transfers," Wetangula stated.
