Popular Kenya Television Network (KTN) news anchor, Joy Doreen Biira has quit her job at the Standard Group.

The Ugandan born news presenter kept her exit from the Mombasa road based media company secret after she landed a job at Kenya's Ministry of Mining.

She reportedly assumed her new job as the Advisor, Strategic Communications towards the end of last year.

Joy began her career as an Intern before she got employed as a TV anchor, hosting a weekday Morning show alongside Shawn Kimuli at NBS Television, based in Kampala, Uganda.

In 2008, she relocated to Kenya and started working as the weekend Breakfast show host at Capital FM.

She joined Standard Media Group in 2012 and started working as a news anchor and reporter with KTN.

Ms Biira caught media attention in 2016 when her Sh2.8 Million Mercedes Benz was stolen at the premises of the Standard Group Limited.

Her colleague Aaron Ochieng was later arrested in connection with the theft but he revealed that the car's disappearance was a planned theft between him and Ms Biira.

Later in 2016, she was also arrested in Uganda when a military fight broke out in Kasese town.
