City Hall experienced a 2-hour internet outage on Wednesday and it has emerged that the county government lost Sh6 Million during that period.
Normal operations were brought to a halt leading to long queues and delayed transactions.
ICT county executive Charles Kerich stated that there had been a delay in the payment of Sh3.2 Million to an internet service provider but operations resumed before midday.

“It is true that our internet had been disconnected, but this was because of a delay in payment.
"We, however, made a commitment to settle the bill by the end of this month and it was reconnected around 11am,” stated the executive.
The JamboPay director, Danson Muchemi, stated that the disruption had led to losses though he assured the public that parking services were not affected.
“Services such as parking were not affected but a comparison of Wednesday’s totals and Tuesday’s revealed a deficit of approximately Sh6 million," he remarked.
Muchemi further urged city residents to make use of online payment platforms to avoid delays.
“Most people go to queue at City Hall, yet they can access our website or even use their phones, which will take less than five minutes to make the payments.
"We are rolling out programmes to sensitise the public,” he added.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko earlier this week stated that he was capable of running the county without his Deputy Polycarp Igathe who announced his resignation and revealed that he was introducing changes in the Central Business District (CBD).
Sonko stated that he was in the process of distributing garbage containers that would be strategically placed in town and in estates.
He further added that the garbage skips would be changed by workers from the environmental department and not residents.
