3 Conditions Set For Uhuru - Raila Dialogue

Self Declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) Head of Operations Miguna Miguna on Sunday set three conditions for opposition leader Raila Odinga to dialogue with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Through his social media, Dr Miguna stated that the talks could only occur between two presidents (for the Opposition to engage in dialogue, Raila must be sworn in the People's President).

Secondly, he stated that both parties must agree on the mediator and the agenda of the dialogue.

Previously, NASA had rejected calls for National dialogue by religious and business leaders terming it a project for President Kenyatta.

Dr Miguna finally disclosed that for the talks to occur, they must be structured.

"Dialogue will only occur between two presidents; Both parties must agree on the mediator and the agenda and it must be structured," he tweeted on Sunday.

He noted that President Kenyatta and his team had rejected attempts for dialogue with the opposition.

Earlier in the month, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka made a request to the Opposition Chief urging him to engage in dialogue with the President.

The former Vice President further noted that a parallel oath taking by the National Super Alliance (NASA) should be the last resort if dialogue does not work.

"If Uhuru and Raila cannot come together, I hope they will allow me to bring them together so that they can look at each other in the face. These are people who have worked together in the past,” he stated.

Odinga had, on the day of  Uhuru's inauguration, announced that he would be sworn in on December 12 as the People's President, but this was eventually postponed.
