The Urgent Action These MPs Want Mudavadi to Take

Two legislators from Jubilee and the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition in the Western region have asked Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi to call for an urgent meeting of all elected leaders in the region.

The disgruntled MPs expressed their disappointment in their respective coalitions citing that the western region had been shortchanged when negotiated for posts.

Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali, who was elected on a Jubilee, asked Mudavadi to unite the community so as to strengthen their bargaining power.

"Mudavadi should act now and convene the meeting. We will attend even if we are in Jubilee Party because we want to speak with one voice on everything," Mr Shinali stated.

Lugari MP Ayub Savula (NASA) urged Jubilee MPs to join the opposition coalition stating that the government did not have their interest at heart.

He welcomed the calls for the meeting.

"They should come we work together. We got a raw deal from Jubilee which claims we have the chief whip slot. We want at least four Cabinet positions for regional balance," Savula explained.

On the other hand, the Opposition coalition maintained that plans to swear-in Raila Odinga were still on course.

Earlier on Sunday,  President Uhuru Kenyatta was given seven days to make a decision on engaging in dialogue with the Opposition leader.

Speaking in Mombasa County, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka warned President Kenyatta that he had one week to start a dialogue with Odinga.

According to the former Vice President, the country may get into a crisis if the Head of State does not move with speed to resolve the matter.

The Wiper leader emphasized that this was the last chance for Jubilee to stop the looming danger.

"I want to tell Uhuru that if he doesn't call Raila for dialogue in the next one week, then the country will tumble," he stated.
