Amani National Congress (ANC) Party Secretary General, Barrack Muluka, on Tuesday cautioned its members against what he termed as 'blackmail' by National Super Alliance (NASA).
Mr Muluka asked ANC members, one of the NASA constituents, to reject being lured into signing an affidavit to recognize Raila Odinga as the People's President.
He told Kenyans.co.ke that the initiative dubbed Tangaza Msimamo launched by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala is mischievous and not legally binding.
"Such kind of document is supposed to bind, someone cannot just materialize an anonymous document and compel members to sign," he divulged.

He further argued that the affidavit should have been passed through NASA forums adding that the individual parties and the relevant officials must have authenticated and approved its legality.
"It is therefore not legal, not taken through any kind of discussion. Nobody, accordingly, should impose anything upon an MP.
"I would not advise anybody to sign such an affidavit to sign the document, that is witch hunting, it's only a mischievous person who does that," Mr Muluka explained.
However, Mr Muluka has received backlash from a section of NASA leaders from Western led by regional coordinator Mr Khalid Njiraini who accuse him of embarrassing ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
“We now believe that Barrack Muluka is one of the proponents angling for dialogue so that he can be considered for appointment in the Jubilee administration.

“We find him dishonest and therefore advise Mudavadi not to rely on him because of his questionable political loyalty,” Njiraini stated.
This directive intensifies the rift within the Opposition ahead of the swearing-in set to take place on January 30 in a venue yet to be unleashed.
