Sonko Rescue Team Chief Executive Officer, Joab Ogolla, on Tuesday explained why its members had been linked to individuals partaking robberies and muggings at the Central Business District (CBD).
He termed the allegations baseless, unfounded and false, further confirming that none of the members had been arrested in connection to the same.
He went ahead to explain that the motive behind the allegations was political adding that cartels within the city are derailing the Governor's efforts to do away with Corruption.
"These are just petty allegations. None of the muggers arrested was found to be our member or with an identification card from the SRT," he explained.

"All those claiming SRT members mug city dwellers are wrong. We do not have criminals on our team. Why not other groups? Why should they only point fingers at the Sonko Rescue Team?" Mr Ogolla posed.
He, however, assured that such workings would not tamper with Mr Sonko's agenda in running the county as well as the Sonko Rescue Team.
"Sonko Rescue Team is still carrying out its activities. On Tuesday we were at Eastleigh for clean-up activities," Ogolla asserted.
A month ago, Governor Sonko raised an alarm over the presence of individuals posing as Sonko Rescue Team and using the team's uniform to commit crimes including robbery, extortion, and rape.

The team also refuted rumors that the NGO had been dissolved after the county devolved garbage collection to the sub-county level.
