Kamba Elders to Punish Kalonzo and Muthama

Kamba elders in Machakos county on Wednesday threatened to take action against Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama if the planned swearing-in ceremony takes place.

The elders, who are also part of Mau Mau War Veterans Association led by Johnstone Kiiti, stated that they would punish the duo for misleading the Kamba community to side with the Opposition.

"Do not provoke our anger since you are too young. Compromise with the current government or else we will deal with you.

"This government came through our struggles, whoever will swear in the two using the Bible contrary to the law will be punished," he stated.

Mr Kiiti noted that the punishment would be effective as soon as the NASA leader Raila Odinga assumes office as the People's President.

The elders claimed that the Opposition's plan is a recipe for chaos and would possibly lead to bloodshed in the country.

They cautioned the NASA brigade against the planned inauguration stating: You are committing suicide since we already have a government in place."

Justifying their calls, they remarked that they fought for the country’s independence and would not encourage any leader to instigate a war in the name of liberating the country.

The Mau Mau veterans further called upon the National Assembly to strike off clauses which allow picketing and demonstrations.

Meanwhile, NASA has maintained that the Odinga oath plan slated for next week is on adding that it will ask ICC to probe alleged profiling and killing of its supporters.
