Former MCA's Wife Dies in KNH After Rape Incident

Former Riruta Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), Samuel Ndung'u's wife, Lucy Njambi, died on Friday morning at the Kenyatta National Hospital after she was allegedly raped and poured with acid in Kiambu County.

According to her family, Ms Njambi succumbed to injuries at the hospital after she was raped in what they alleged to have been domestic violence with the former MCA.

Ms Njambi had frequent quarrels with her husband and had even moved out of her matrimonial home with her son.

On Wednesday, according to her neighbor Mario Nderi, the politician and three men picked her from her apartment along Kiambu Road and drove away in a saloon car.

She was later found in Kamiti corner where she had been abandoned without clothes at a hidden location.

Witnesses who discovered her revealed that she was still speaking when she was rescued by Good Samaritans and rushed to Kiambu hospital.

Her uncle, Peter Ndung'u, stated that she was later referred to Kenyatta Hospital adding that she suffered 70 percent burns.

The former MCA has been arrested and taken to court in connection with his wife's death.

Mr Ndung'u was remanded to allow more time for the police to conduct further investigations.

Police in Kiambu has indicated that he will be arraigned in court on Monday.
