What NASA Leaders Were Deliberating Before Raila's Inauguration- Kivutha Kibwana

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana on Thursday revealed what the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders were deliberating ahead of the swearing-in day which was held at Uhuru Park.

According to the Makueni Governor, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetangula were still deliberating on the oath wording and how it would be administered.

Kivutha Kibwana, however, stated that the NASA leaders were unable to meet to discuss the matter over fear of being apprehended.

"NASA leaders were still deliberating on the oath wording and how it would be administered, but they were unable to meet to resolve the issue for fear of being nabbed," he stated.

His remarks come amid speculations that the NASA leaders had ditched the Opposition ahead of Raila's inauguration.

In his defense, the Wiper Party leader explained that he could not show up at Uhuru Park following the withdrawal of his security by the Government.

"I know there is tension over what happened, Raila took an oath, and I never made it because of understandable circumstances," he stated adding that the state sabotaged all his plans.

Speaking soon after the brief oath ceremony held at Uhuru Park, the three co-principals declined to offer an explanation for missing out on the Opposition's ceremony.

They, however, stated they were firmly in NASA as members of the coalition's summit.

"Yesterday, 29 January 2018 as the four NASA Principals, we had a lengthy meeting where we revisited the controversial Election of 8th August 2018, which was nullified by the Supreme Court, as well as the boycotted election of 26 October 2017 and our reform agenda and in particular electoral justice, among other important issues.

"We agreed to meet again this morning. However, due to circumstances beyond our comprehension and control, the four of us did not assemble as planned," a statement by the three leaders read in part.
