Chiloba Addreses Being Chased From Yvonne Wamalwa's Burial

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission CEO Ezra Chiloba has refuted reports that he was chased from the late Yvonne Wamalwa's burial in Kitale on Saturday.

In a post via his Twitter account, Chiloba dismissed the allegations terming them "fake, propaganda and a distortion of reality".

Reports had earlier alleged that the IEBC boss had to flee after a group demanded his departure when Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka rose to introduce the VIPs who made it to the Milimani home.

Some youth who were in attendance reportedly shouted Lusaka down, booing and demanding that Chiloba leaves.

Chiloba realised his presence was causing problems and it is alleged that he sneaked out of the venue before the burial ended.

"That video clip is another distortion of reality! Editing my farewell remarks to a number of youths who wanted to greet me," Chiloba maintained.

"Let us all be advocates of TRUTH - at all times. It doesn’t matter how long it takes! As a matter of fact, the event went on very well," he added.

Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa's family had asked politicians to refrain from trading jabs and political talk remarks which were thwarted.

The CS further castigated politicians who alleged that the government had neglected Yvonne, who was the widow of former VP Kijana Wamalwa.

CS Wamalwa also pleaded with politicians from the Western region to change their outlook and work towards uniting the Luhya community.
