Angry Reactions Emerge After Naming of These VCs

Kenyans were on Thursday angered after immediate former Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i appointed six University Vice Chancellors (VCs) to represent various institutions in the country.

Majority of the netizens expressed their anger after pointing out that a majority of the VCs were from Kikuyu community.

Five of the six universities had received their charters in 2016 and have had acting bosses in charge of the institutions.

Most of the Kenyans noted that they emanated from one tribe insinuating that there is no equal representation in the leadership at the higher institution.

Kenyatta University Professor, Paul Wainaina, who was the acting VC, has been confirmed as the new KU boss.

Here are some of the reactions;

University of Nairobi deputy vice-chancellor in charge of research, Prof Lucy Irungu, is the new vice-chancellor of Machakos University.
