William Kingi Involved in Accident

Mombasa County Deputy Governor, William Kingi, was on Wednesday night involved in a nasty accident along the Nakuru-Naivasha road.

The deputy county boss stated that he was grateful to God that he was not injured in the accident.

Kingi revealed that he and five others who had accompanied him sustained minor bruises.

"God is great. Last night on our way to Naivasha for the deputy governors' caucus meeting, we were involved in an accident," Kingi stated.

The car in which the six were travelling in was badly damaged as it overturned.

The Mombasa Deputy Governor, later in the day, posted on Twitter: "Safe and sound at deputy governor caucus meeting in Naivasha."

Kingi was grateful to be alive, especially with memories of Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru's death still fresh in Kenyans' minds.

Gakuru died in a tragic road accident along the Murang'a-Nairobi road just three months ago.

The Governor’s Mercedes E250 rammed into a highway guardrail, which pierced through it on the side he was seated.

This was only eight months after Nyeri’s first county boss, Nderitu Gachagua, died while undergoing treatment abroad.
