NASA to Hold 6 Rallies Protesting Arrests

National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have announced plans to hold a series of six rallies before the month of February ends.

According to the leaders, the six rallies will be focused on protesting the recent arrests of politicians affiliated with the Opposition.

Notable arrests made were those of Ruraka legislator Tom Kajwang' and lawyer Miguna Miguna, who have both been accused of participating in an act of treason for swearing-in former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the people's president.

The Opposition leaders have since started referring to the swearing-in as a "symbolic representation" of their stand against President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime.

Suna East Member of Parliament and National Assembly Minority Whip, Junet Mohamed, emphasised the Opposition's stand stating that there was no government in place.

"There is no government and there is no Opposition right now.

"We just have rulers and servants. What is going on, really, has made the life of anyone thought to be pro-opposition very difficult," Junet stated on Thursday.

He further reiterated sentiments by the Opposition leaders that the President and his administration do not respect the Constitution.

"He has neglected the huge strides we had made after the 2010 Constitution, the doctrine of the separation of powers, the Bill of Rights, and devolution," the Suna East MP stated.

NASA leaders on Wednesday also announced that acts of civil disobedience and product boycotts would still continue beginning Saturday.
