National Super Alliance leaders (NASA) have released a press statement explaining why they believe the Western envoys have thrown their weight behind President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.
In the joint statement read jointly by Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang’, Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi, the NASA politicians indicated that the envoys had political and commercial interest in Kenya.
First, the NASA MPs indicated that the United States ambassador had in the past planned to sell to Kenya highly overpriced military aircrafts dubbed "Air Tractors".
The deal, however, flopped after the intervention of the American Congress and the MPs indicated that the aircraft would have been obtained at half the price.
Besides, the lawmakers alluded that the US ambassador to Kenya had interest in the tendering of the planned New Mombasa-Nairobi dual-carriage highway which they allege was single sourced to an American construction giant.
Finally, the MPs indicated that the diplomats also had a hand in the procurement of cybersecurity infrastructure during the 2017 general elections that they allege was not put into place as per the disclosure made.
"The envoys are desperate to ensure that this pandora box remains firmly shut hence they are intense on legitimizing Uhuru Kenyatta," Osotsi read out.
"Two Billion dollar Euro Bond proceeds disappeared without trace. That money cannot be hidden here," he added.
The MPs referred to the envoys as partners in crime in the corruption cases witnessed in the past.
According to the statement, the US and UK financial authorities knew or could easily establish the movement of this money.
This statement by the MPs, who were flanked by NASA strategist David Ndii, appeared to respond to an earlier call by 11 Ambassadors and high commissioners urging Raila Odinga and the Opposition to recognize Kenyatta and DP William Ruto as the legitimate leaders.
However, the NASA MPs promised their supporters that they would not cow-away no matter how much support the government receives internationally.
