Controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has tabled an open letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta through his The 5th Estate forum, outlining a formidable plan that he believes would see David Maraga, the Chief Justice (CJ) and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, removed from office.
According to the letter, with the recent nomination of Olive Mugenda, Patrick Gichohi, and Felix Koskei into the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), President Uhuru Kenyatta should now embark on winning the trust of Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu and Supreme Court judge Smokin Wanjala.

The Political scientist expresses that President Uhuru should deal with CJ Maraga decisively by having him removed from office and having six commissioners of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on his side would enable the JSC to vote out CJ Maraga.
Mutahi further argues that it would be impossible for CJ Maraga to appeal the decision by the JSC at the Supreme Court since Deputy CJ Mwilu would have to preside over the case.
Having CJ Maraga removed from office would, however, require President Uhuru to promise Deputy CJ Mwilu the position of CJ with Justice Wanjala as his deputy in Mutahi's argument.
"Raila Odinga has an ally in Maraga. If the two combine forces, Uhuru's second term will be hell," Mutahi Ngunyi expresses.

To counter the possible eventualities, Mutahi proposes that President Uhuru treat his second term in office as a "state of emergency" if he hopes to see his legacy projects accomplished.
Mutahi concludes that President Kenyatta "Must deal decisively with CJ Maraga and Raila Odinga. And he must do that now! He should not wait."
He adds that the crackdown on National Super Alliance (NASA) members and allies should be unrelenting as Mutahi believes this would give the Opposition time to regroup and restrategize.
Equally, the political analyst is of the opinion that the deported lawyer Miguna Miguna should not be allowed into the country terming him as a "chocolate soldier."
However, the letter cautions that acting with fury as a show of power would deny President Kenyatta control hence he should also continue creating suspense and confusion by not overeacting to the actions of the Opposition.
