Troubled MPs Debate Lack of Toilet Papers in Parliament

Members of Parliament have complained of lack of basic amenities such as toilet papers in the House.

During a debate on Wednesday afternoon, the lawmakers were agitated by some of the conditions of their offices which they termed as deplorable.

Addressing the House, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed argued that it was embarrassing for parliamentarians to lack essential toiletries in their offices since they played host to a lot of visitors.

In addition, the lawmaker also revealed that their offices at Continental House lacked running water claims which were backed by Nominated MP Dr David Ole Sankok.

The debate took an interesting twist as some of the members complained about the quality of food that was served in Parliament arguing that it was not healthy.

Nambale MP Bunyasi Sakwa maintained that the food served in Parliament was not healthy and asked the newly formed Committee on Services and Facilities to change the lawmakers' diet.

He further urged the committee to hire a chef who will oversee the meals prepared and ensure that they are healthy and inclined towards the Kenyan culture.

Kitutu Chache MP Jimmy Angwenyi also added his voice to the debate stating that a well-equipped gym facility should be provided for the legislators since their health was paramount for them to deliver their mandate to Kenyans.
