Miguna Miguna Denies Declining to Meet Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho in Dubai Hospital

Twice deported lawyer Miguna Miguna on Saturday addressed claims that he declined to meet Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who was allegedly set to pay him a courtesy call in hospital while in Dubai.

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.keMiguna clarified that he was not aware of the said visit by the ODM governor.

"The claims being advanced that I declined to meet Joho in Dubai are being done for PR, propaganda or malicious reasons.

"I would have had no reason to decline such a request. I have no ill will towards Joho or anyone else.

"Joho has never written to me or called me. I have never received a request either from him or from anyone else that he would like to meet or speak with me," he conveyed.

He added that he did not have Joho's contacts nor had they been in contact at any point.

Dr Miguna urged Kenyans to treat any contradicting news with the contempt they deserved.

Earlier on Friday, there were reports that Joho would be visiting the lawyer in Dubai where he is hospitalized.

Mombasa communications director Richard Chacha affirmed that the governor was in Dubai and was scheduled to meet Miguna.

"The governor is in Dubai. He will be visiting Miguna shortly and give us updates on how Miguna is faring," Chacha stated.

The ODM deputy party leader was transiting via Dubai from Estonia East Europe where he was on official duty.
