Interior CS Fred Matiang'i on Tuesday appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Administration where he stated that Miguna Miguna can easily apply to have his Kenyan citizenship regularized online.
Addressing the MPs, CS Matiang'i stated that Miguna could have his Kenyan citizenship restored from Canada and return to the country.
"Miguna can fill the relevant immigration form to apply for citizenship. He can even return to the country as soon as this afternoon as long as the forms are filled. It's as simple as that," he told the committee.
The Interior CS explained that they worked within the law by denying Miguna entry when he arrived at JKIA.

"What we did was in compliance with the Immigration laws. No one is exempt. The Pope had his passport stamped on entry, President Obama had his passport stamped on entry. Even President Kenyatta had his passport stamped on entry last night on arrival from Mozambique.
"Miguna was not deported. We removed Miguna as an undocumented, unestablished passenger on transit to his last port of call," he stated.
CS Matiang'i added that they would apply a formal complaint with the Law Society of Kenya disclosing that they had requested the Attorney General to file a complaint with the Judicial Service Commission over how the judges mishandled the case.
"We took documents to Miguna and he tore them. Over 3000 people have regularized their citizenship since the law came into force. We did all we could to comply with the law, and we always comply with court orders
"Our ministry is the most affected by the decisions made by a section of the Judiciary. We have not heard a chance to be heard. The right to be heard is the most basic," he stated.
Responding to the allegations that Miguna was drugged when he was taken to Dubai, Matiang'i stated: "I don't know whether Miguna Miguna was drugged, I am not aware, therefore, I can't respond to that question because I don't know."
