What Raila Should Now Get From Uhuru After Handshake - Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi Advises

Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi on Tuesday stated that NASA leader Raila Odinga should get a deal that includes an all-inclusive government from his deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during Kanyakine in Meru, the Jubilee governor disclosed that having by having Raila in the government, the country would develop.

"The rest are our brothers, We would want them in the house of our President, so let Raila get a bedroom in Uhuru's government for an all-inclusive government so that we can have peace, unity, development, and prosperity in this Country," he conveyed.

He added that Mount Kenya region was firmly behind DP William Ruto's 2022 presidential campaign.

"We all declared that once President Uhuru Kenyatta's term ends, DP Ruto must take over," he affirmed.

Governor Kiraitu cited DP Ruto's faithfulness as a reason why the community should reward him with support for the top seat in the next elections.

His sentiments were echoed by Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman David Muthoga who assured that the region would fully back Ruto.

Since the handshake in March, the country has been in a state of anticipation on when the leaders will avail the contents of their deal.

Raila was invited to give the keynote speech at the devolution conference which is slated for April 23.

Legislators from both sides of the aisle have called for a truce as the details of the handshake are being ironed out.

Earlier in February, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale declared that Jubilee was ready to merge with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in preparation for the 2022 elections.
