Do This And Central Kenya Will Support You In 2022 - DP Ruto Told

Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has told Deputy President William Ruto that he will be assured of the Mt Kenya region's support in 2022 if he maintains his loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking ahead of President Kenyatta's inauguration on Tuesday, Mr Wambugu noted that Ruto "had more goodwill in the Central region that than any other leader, except Uhuru Kenyatta".

He stated: “Central Kenya has seen the work he has done for Uhuru; his support; loyalty and commitment, and they genuinely appreciate it.

"All the DP needs to do is consolidate and sustain this goodwill and overwhelming support during President Kenyatta’s second and final term,” he continued.

Mr Wambugu further urged DP Ruto to 'keep Central close' during President Kenyatta's second term.

Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny also expressed confidence that the Deputy President had endeared himself to Central Kenya voters despite some leaders from the region warning him that their support was not guaranteed.

“You can’t miss one or two elements with contrary opinion, but I have no doubt at all that the sacrifices Mr Ruto has made for President Kenyatta have endeared him to the ordinary voter from Central,” Kutuny stated.

DP Ruto is angling to run for President in the next General election in 2022.

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has previously stated that President Kenyatta will be Ruto's chief campaigner 2 years to the poll.

On Tuesday, DP Ruto will take his oath of office using the Bible President Kenyatta used during his first inauguration in 2013.
