Gideon Moi's Plan to Neutralize DP William Ruto in Rift Valley

The supremacy battle between Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Deputy President William Ruto for influence in Rift valley is taking shape in readiness for the 2022 election.

Moi, who is the KANU chairman, will embark on a revamping mission for his party while building his national profile.

Speaking on behalf of the party, Emurua Dikir MP Johana Ng’eno disclosed that: “We plan to tour every part of Rift Valley and to tell the people that Gideon Moi will be on the ballot in 2022 so they should not be misled by anyone that only Ruto will be on the ballot.”

His strategy includes filling vacancies in the party and collaborating with established politicians across the nation to strengthen his bid.

Moi is also expected to tour Nyanza region where he will express his gratitude to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga for agreeing to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

KANU Secretary general Nick Salat added that the national tour would serve as a platform for Moi to introduce himself to the people as President's Uhuru successor.

Salat further revealed that on Sunday he will join ODM's Secretary General Edwin Sifuna for a church service in Siaya.

Senator Moi is scheduled to visit Mombasa where he will have discussions with Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

"After Mombasa, we will attend a church service in Nyeri or Muranga at a date to be announced next month. We believe our party leader is the best man to succeed Uhuru,’ Salat told journalists on Friday.

On his part, West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo stated that: “We will continue to support President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver his big four agenda. But even as we do that the party will start to prepare itself to play a big role in 2022."
