Miguna Miguna, ODM's Philip Etale Engage in Heated Online Debate

Miguna Miguna on Saturday evening engaged in a heated online fight with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)'s Director of Communication Philip Etale over his criticism over Raila Odinga's decision to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The tweef began when Miguna accused Raila of selling out his ideals and supporters for Ksh50 Billion.

"Finally, @RailaOdinga's deal with @UKenyatta is a personal and private monetary arrangement and arrangement between two people. @UKenyatta paid @RailaOdinga Kshs. 50 billion to betray thousands who have died and been maimed at @RailaOdinga demos. Enough is Enough!" Miguna tweeted on Saturday.

In a quick rejoinder, Etale stated that Miguna was after bloodshed in the country and that Raila and Uhuru's unity deal prevented him from succeeding in his mission.

"Miguna, we all know what you wanted. You had bad intentions for Kenya. You wanted bloodshed. You wanted Kenyans to rise against each other. Kill and maim. @RailaOdinga doesn't believe in that. His handshake with @UKenyatta disorganised you. Kenyans want peace not noise," Etale maintained.

Not one to let the comment rest, Miguna responded by giving documented instances in history where Raila did not back down in his push for electoral justice.

"So he discovered his FEAR for blood only after I swore him in? After my detention, torture & forced exile? But he didn't fear blood during the 1982 attempted coup d'etat; the 2007/8 post-election violence; the numerous @IEBCKenya demos; & when 500 of his supporters were murdered?" Miguna posed.

It is at this point that Etale put Miguna's loyalty to the test mentioning that he (Miguna) did not support Raila in the August polls.

"Last but not least, Dr Miguna, you stated on a live Tv show that you never voted for @RailaOdinga. We heard you live and clear. You bragged of how you hated Raila and called him all sorts of names. You joined the team after the Maraga ruling on August 8 Presidential vote."

In response, Miguna stated: "Mr Bootlicker, that proves that I fight for justice. I don't follow anyone blindly. Voting for someone would not make me support after credible evidence has demonstrated that they cheated, stole elections and followed it up by killing innocent Kenyans. I never joined your team," he affirmed.
