Police Engage With Youth After Stoning MP David Pkosing's Car [VIDEO]

Police on Saturday engaged in running battles with youth who stoned Pokot South MP David Pkosing's car when he was en route to address parents at a school in Kapenguria.

The rioting protestors are reported to have attempted to block the Member of Parliament from addressing the parents and students of St Cecilia Chepareria girls and Ortum boys high school.

Pkosing was expected to speak on the last year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) cancelled results.

The police swooped in and apprehended some of the protestors to calm the situation.

Addressing journalists after the incident, the legislator stated that he would go to see the senior officers in the area and seek a way to resolve the matter.

"After this, I will go escalate this matter to the OCS and OCPD because that is a threat to my life.

He added that one of the women in his convoy and the Deputy headteacher of the school had been injured in the chaos.

"The police should take over and increase security in this school," Pkosing stated.

Earlier on Thursday, four people were shot dead by armed bandits in Kapedo after an ambush.

The four were said to be travelling to Marigat in Baringo County.
