Evans Kidero Announces He is Eyeing Big Seat

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has announced that he is preparing for a comeback.

Speaking over the weekend during a fundraising ceremony in aid of Wikoteng’ Secondary School in Asumbi in Homa Bay County, the ODM politician denied that he was seeking to unseat Homabay Governor Cyprian Awiti as he had his sights set for a bigger position.

"Those who have been saying that I am seeking to unseat Governor Awiti if a by-election ensues must now desist because that is not true. I am going for a bigger seat,” he declared.

Kidero was addressing claims that he was seeking to unseat the Homabay governor after the High Court annulled his election.

Kidero also faulted his successor Governor Mike Sonko accusing him of failing Nairobi residents in terms of delivering services.

“We shall restore Nairobi to its former glory because those in leadership have failed,” he promised.

His sentiments were echoed by former Nairobi County Chief of Staff George Wainaina who warned Sonko to prepare for fierce battle in the 2022 election.

“We have no alternative but to kick out Mr Sonko because he has failed Nairobi residents,” Wainaina stated.

He further referenced the handshake between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta terming it as a move that would heal the country.

“The handshake between President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga should not be seen as Kikuyu and a Luo affair but a matter of national importance,” he conveyed.
