Four assistant chiefs were attacked in Gatundu North constituency, Kiambu County after an attempt to bust a suspected bhang dealer went wrong.
The members of the provincial administration are said to have raided the peddler's home at around 5.30am in a bid to arrest him following a tip-off.
In a quick turn of events, the suspect identified as Mburu Tithu and his brother attacked the administrators using machetes and clubs.

The raid which was led by Mangu sub-location assistant chief, James Gitau Kamami, saw the suspect nubbed in possession of 5kg bhang which he was processing.
The Monday morning incident left Gitau and fellow assistant chiefs Francis Muhia (Mwea), Samuel Kamau (Mukurwe), and Joseph Kuria (Mitero) with deep cuts which saw them admitted to Igegania Hospital.
According to police reports, the four who are currently nursing injuries sustained during the attack following the raid are in stable condition.
Kiambu County government has heightened the fight against drug peddling and illicit drugs which are associated with a rise in crime.
This comes even as the county residents raised concerns over the increasing cases of alcoholism, especially among the youth.
Kiambu County boss Ferdinand Waititu has in the past asserted his commitment to the cause promising that he would quit his current position as the governor if his efforts to eliminate illicit liquor and alcoholism in the county failed.

This has seen the governor at loggerheads with a section of the county residents who have opposed the Kiambu County Alcoholic Drinks Control Act, 2017 which the was enacted to regulate the industry and eliminate illicit brews.
