Prominent Nairobi lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi on Tuesday posted photos of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in the company of men accused of assaulting former Nairobi CBD Association Chairman Timothy Muriuki.
Ahmednasir claimed that the trio attended a wedding over the weekend alongside Sonko yet police claim to be facing difficulties in arresting them.
"The police are allegedly looking for the trio...and they attended this lavish wedding last Saturday with Hon Governor," posted the Senior Counsel on his Twitter page.

A member of the governor's communication team told Kenyans.co.ke that Sonko is a 'generous leader who just honoured an invitation to a wedding and nothing else should be read into the photos.
"The public wedding happened on 28th April and the bride and groom made the ceremony a public event so the governor was forced to take photos with all his supporters.
"The Boulevard incident happened on 30th April after the wedding. It's unfortunate for a lawyer like Ahmednasir to twist facts to create a perception that Sonko was meeting with wanted persons," he stated.
Last week, the governor disassociated himself from the men saying he was not behind the attack.
He called on the police to take action against the three men who attacked Muriuki at Boulevard Hotel.
Although the goons claimed to have assaulted the ex-NCBDA chairman in the name of governor Sonko, the Nairobi boss maintained there was no way he could have sent thugs to accost someone who was issuing a statement to support him.
“Muriuki was going to read a statement to support me, how then could I send thugs to manhandle him? This is the work of my detractors who want to paint me as violent and I am calling for thorough investigations into the incident,” Sonko stated.
On Tuesday, East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) lawmaker Simon Mbugua was arrested in connection with the assault.
His arrest came hours after Nairobi police boss Joseph Ole Tito revealed that they have not managed to arrest the suspects because of the tactics they are using to evade authorities.
He divulged that a Monday operation to arrest one of them was not successful after the suspect switched off his phone and move to another area.
“He escaped but we shall catch up with them. We have mounted another operation this morning. No one is protecting them and that is why we have placed a Sh500, 000 on each of them,” he asserted.
It is alleged that another has been evading police by moving to different parts of the city but the search will continue until they are nabbed.
