ODM Denies Secret Plan to Destroy Jubilee

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-general Edwin Sifuna has dismissed claims that his party intends to secretly destroy Jubilee Party.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Sifuna stated that the fears expressed by leaders from DP William Ruto's camp are baseless and push a 'wrong notion.'

“When we engage in activities as a party, it’s not our intention to kill (politically) any other person, group or party.

"I believe that these parties are free to engage in party activities, they are free to go to any corner of the country like we are doing in ODM.

"Our vibrancy is only for uplifting ourselves. That is a wrong notion that should be corrected,” remarked Sifuna.

He further added that they were in support of all activities spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga but would still condemn corrupt activities in government.

This comes after Jubilee-allied MPs accused the NASA leader of a spirited attempt to drive a wedge between the Head of State and Ruto.

The leaders stated Mr Odinga, in his March 9 handshake with the President, had a sinister agenda to divide the Jubilee Party from within.

“There is no doubt that he sees William Ruto as his competitor, and that is why he is disdainful of the Deputy President and his lieutenants,” revealed Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen.

He added that: “He (Odinga) is trying to be cosy with the President but at the same time is hostile to the DP. His is a perfect example of divisive politics.”
